St. Anthony’s School, Kincardine, honours Class of 2024 at Grade 8 graduation
The St. Anthony’s School Class of 2024 celebrated its Grade 8 graduation with a prayer service at the Catholic church, followed by the graduation ceremony and presentation of awards at the school, and a reception and dance, Wednesday, June 26.
During the ceremony, principal Samantha Pitre addressed the graduates and their families, and the valedictorian address was given by Spencer McGillivray and Liam Morin-Lynch.
The Grade 8 certificates were given out, and the following awards were presented:
- Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board Academic Excellence and Catholic Values Award – Harrison Henhoeffer
- Catholic Women's League Award for Christian Living – Sophia Meakes and Hugh Cahill
- Knights of Columbus Athlete of the Year Awards – Marysia Wilkiewicz and Spencer McGillivray
- Pastor's Award – Harrison Henhoeffer, Sophia Meakes and Marysia Wilkewicz
- Law Offices of Andrea Clarke Valedictorian Award – Spencer McGillivray and Liam Morin-Lynch
- Arts Award – Rae Fludder
- French as a Second Language Award – Leslie Smith-Santander
- Principal's Language Arts Award – Chloe Gauthier and Jack Williams
- Most Improved in Math Award – Tehya Lachapelle and Ella Szydlowski
- Most Improved in Music Award – Logan Francoeur
- Science Award – Oscar Weerasinghe
- Catholic School Community Award – Sophia Meakes
- School Spirit Award – Allison Court
- Outstanding Effort Award – Joaquin Motta
- Engineering Inspiration award, presented by the Kinetic Knights (FRC Team 781) – Rielly Antler-Lake
- Prix d'excellence en Francais – Coraline Henry and Katie Edey
