Kincardine Christmas Hamper program under way
The Kincardine Community Services Association has kicked off its 2015 Christmas Hamper Porgram, and as always, the success of the program relies on the generous support of the community.

Those in need - individuals and families - who wish to receive a hamper had until Friday, Dec. 4, to have their name added to the list, by referral, through their social worker, counsellor, school principal, health professional, minister or helpign agency.

Meanwhile, there are donation boxes throughout Kincardine, accepting non-perishable food (including festive treats) and clothing items for the hampers. In addition, there is a need for new toys, baby food, diapers and gifs for teens and single adults, such as good books, games, winter wear, wallets, hair care and accessories, stationery, personal care items and jewellery. Donations of gift certificates for local stores or restaurants are greatly appreciated.

As in other years, the public is encouraged to donate to the Kincardine District Secondary School Christmas Knights who are holding their door-to-door food and toy drive, Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to Noon. If you are not in town that day, just hang your donation on your front door and label it for the KDSS Christmas Knights.

Otherwise, you can put your donations in drop-off boxes, located at Fincher's, The Bargain Shop and Canadian Tire, until Dec. 11. The local sorority has placed small fir trees in Fincher's and Sobeys, accepting knitted and sewn items to be included in the hampers.

If none of the above works for you, then donations (including monetary ones) can be dropped off at the program depot, located at St. Anthony's Prish Hall, on Friday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to Noon, or from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Or monetary donations can be sent to Rhodora Doughty at P.O. Box 527, Kincardine, Ontario, N2Z 2Y9; please make cheques payable to Kincardine Community Services Association.

If you have any questions, contact Heather Finnie at 519-396-2001, Kat Binnendyk at 519-395-0472, or Barb Burgess at 519-396-8345.
