Kincardine teen charged after fleeing from RIDE check

(BROCKTON, ON) - Sept. 26, at 1:19 a.m., the South Bruce OPP was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Bruce County Road 15.

During the operation, a vehicle fled from the area. The driver was identified by police and arrested at a later time.

As a result of the investigation, Brailin HAYS, 18, of Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:
 
  • Flight from peace officer, CC 320.17
  • Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody. The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice, Oct. 23.
