​Bulldogs slammed by Wingham, edge Mount Forest, on the road
The Kincardine Bulldogs suffered a tough loss against Wingham, but edged Mount Forest, on the road in PJHL action, on the weekend.

The ‘Dogs travelled to Wingham, Friday night, and were slammed by the Ironmen, 8-1.

Scoring the lone goal for the Bulldogs, was Carter Servais from Kohen Matthews and Aiden Yarde.

Kincardine goalie Rowen Cherrett made 22 saves on 27 shots, while his colleague, Keenan Bender, made four saves on seven shots.

Saturday night in Mount Forest, the ‘Dogs edged the Patriots, 4-3.

Kincardine opened the scoring early in the first period on a goal by Jordan Moulton from Sawyer Olmstead and Jordan Beisel. Midway through the period, Caeleb Bowler gave the ‘Dogs a two-goal lead, assisted by Moulton.

Mount Forest grabbed a goal late in the period to make it a 2-1 game heading into the second.

The Patriots tied it at 2-2 early in the second frame, and then took the lead minutes later.

Partway through the period, the Bulldogs tied it at three goals apiece after Wyatt Thomas scored from Moulton and Servais.

While both teams had good scoring chances in the final period, Moulton got the game-winner, assisted by Servais and Dustin Heipel, late in the frame, as the ‘Dogs took the 4-3 win.

Cherrett made 34 saves on 37 shots in net for the Bulldogs.

The ‘Dogs have three games this weekend: Friday in Walkerton at 7:30 p.m.; at home against Goderich, Saturday, at 7:30 p.m.; and in Sunday in Fergus at 3 p.m.
