Nine people apply for vacant seat on Kincardine council
Nine people have applied for the Ward 1 councillor seat on Kincardine council, left vacant after the death of Doug Kennedy back in August.
Applications were accepted by the Municipality of Kincardine until Friday, with the following uncertified list of candidates:
- Christina Bandomir
- Christopher Bianco
- Kevin Fournier
- Melville Scott McPherson
- Jason Munro
- Carole Robertson
- Chandrashekhar Tripathi
- Stellina Williams
- Scott D. Wilson
There will be an opportunity for candidates to present to council at the appointment meeting, Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m., in the council chamber at the municipal administration centre.
The agenda for the meeting will be
posted on the municipal website.
At this meeting, council will vote on the appointment of a new councillor. The vote shall be taken in open session.
The appointed councillor will swear his/her oath of office and be formally appointed to the position of councillor by bylaw. The new councillor will serve from this appointment until the next municipal election in 2026.
