Wolves beat Tavistock 4-3 in penalty-filled affair
November 4, 2024
The Ripley Wolves exacted some revenge for last year's playoff ousting by the Tavistock Royals, with a 4-3 win, Saturday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
It was a game of special teams as the Royals racked up 50 minutes in penalties to the Wolves' 47, while the Wolves took an early 2-0 lead, gave it back and more in the middle frame, and finished strong for the victory.
Wolves goals were scored by Cody Britton with two, including the tying and game-winning goals, and Garrett Meurs and Ethan Skinner. Assists went to Todd Hellyer (2), Evan Visser (2), Dan Nicoloff, Brett Catto, and Skinner.
Goalie Jason Hamilton faced 37 shots to get the win for the Wolves, who improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Wolves return home Saturday, Nov. 9, to face the Georgian Bay Applekings, with a 7 p.m. puck drop. Come cheer on the future Wolves, who will play a game after the first period. Game sponsors are Kempton Construction and Lippert Trucking.
