The Grades 7 and 8 cross-country runners at Kincardine District Senior School, had a very successful season.
At the Southwest Area meet, Oct. 8, at Ainsdale Golf Course, KDSS won both the senior girls and senior boys divisions.
Leading the senior girls, was Taylin Taverner. She was closely followed by:
2nd - Paige Andjelic
3rd - Brynlie Wilcox
4th - Brooke Roppel
5th - Taylor Taverner
7th - Tegan Frook
10th - Kenzi Davis
The team finished with a perfect 10 points.
In the senior boys division, KDSS swept the top eight spots, with Brett Helin taking the win. Following him were:
2nd - Grant Crawford
3rd - Hunter MacPherson
4th - Andrew Humphrey
5th - Caleb Jolliffe
6th - Sam Humphrey
7th - Connor Parry
8th - Emmitt McQuillin
The team also finished with a perfect 10 points.
The Bob Atkinson Memorial race at Saugeen Bluffs was held Oct. 21, on an unseasonably-warm day.
The senior girls dominated the race, with four runners placing in the top six.
Brynlie Wilcox took the silver medal and led the team to its first-ever division championship. She was followed by:

5th - Taylin Taverner
6th - Brooke Roppel
8th - Taylor Taverner
13th - Tegan Frook
All runners placed in the top half of their race!

In seniors boys, Brett Helin ran a smart tactical race, slowly working his way up to finish fourth after a strong final sprint. The boys' team finished second overall in its division. Following Brett were:

18th - Caleb Jolliffe
