Members of the Kincardine Cross-Country Ski Club and other volunteers have been busy clearing debris from the trails at Stoney Island Conversation Area in hopes of using them this ski season.

John Melinz of the ski club said that the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) completed the logging, and there is a lot of work to be done. He hopes the SVCA will assist, as was stated.

Despite the heavy snowfall and windy conditions this weekend, the ski club plans to continue to clear the trails, said Melinz. “At this point, the SVCA is allowing us to work with only hand tools.”

He said the club will post on its Facebook page when there are work parties where everyone can join in and help out: www.facebook.com/Kincardinecrosscountryskiclub.
