POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN ATV
(CULROSS TWP, ON) – Dec. 12, at 12:25 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of the theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV, in photo at right) from a residence along Concession 8 in Culross Township.
Officers arrived to find that an outbuilding on the property had been entered between Midnight and 10 a.m., Dec. 12. The list of items taken includes: an orange 2015 Honda T48 ATV with Licence No. 0CY61, four Yokohama Geolander ATV tires on Rockstar rims, and an Echo chainsaw with an 18” bar. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be more than $12,500.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN PICK-UP TRUCK
(ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) – Dec. 12, at 9:19 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of the theft of a pick-up truck from the McCullough’s Service Centre yard located along Bruce County Road 3 in Elderslie Township.
Sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 10, and 9 a.m. Dec. 12, a maroon 1997 GMC Sierra extended cab pick-up truck was taken. The truck doesn’t have licence plates, but the vehicle identification number is on file with police. There is no estimate on the value of the truck available at this time.
POLICE INVESTIGATING CHURCH BREAK-IN
(KINCARDINE, ON) – Dec. 11, at 7:17 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-in at the Knox Presbyterian Church located along Durham Street in Kincardine.
Sometime between Midnight and 7 a.m. Dec. 11, the church was forcibly entered through a side window. The list of stolen items includes: a quantity of cash and tickets to a Knox Presbyterian Church event.
BOTH DRIVERS INJURED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
(BRUCE TWP, ON) – Dec. 10, at 2:41 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bruce County Road 20 and Highway 21 in Bruce Township.
Officers arrived with members of the Tiverton Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedics to find that an eastbound white Chevrolet Traverse had struck a northbound red Pontiac G5. The driver of the Traverse, a 45-year-old Mississauga woman, was charged with fail to yield right of way. Both drivers were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
CALLER HELPS POLICE STOP IMPAIRED DRIVER
(BRANT TWP, ON) – Dec. 12, at 11:40 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a suspected impaired driver in a silver Ford F150 pick-up truck on Bruce County Road 10 in Brant Township.
The truck was located in the Town of Hanover and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Forty-one-year-old Terrance YOUNG of Brant Township was charged with operate over-80 milligrams; possess a controlled substance; and three counts of breach recognizance. He was held in custody pending the results a show cause hearing Dec. 13.
IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
(HANOVER, ON) – Dec. 13, at 4:30 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer was fuelling a cruiser at the Pioneer Gas Bar along 10th Street in Hanover when a silver Dodge Caravan stopped at the gas pumps.
The officer noted that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Fifty-four-year-old Ronald SEIFRIED of West Grey Township was charged with operate over-80 milligrams and drive with open liquor. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 6, 2016, to answer to the charges.
