Elva Motz of Point Clark remembered for her love of family, animals, and the simple joys of life
Elva Delphine Motz (née Stellar) of Point Clark, died peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at the age of 86.

Deeply cherished and forever remembered by her husband of 69 years, Walter Motz.

Her comforting words and unwavering patience will be profoundly missed by her daughters, Debbie Briggs (Chris) and Bonnie Dahm (Dan), along with her son-in-law, Fred Kreller.

A constant presence in the family, her absence creates a void for her six grandchildren: Lisa Lowry (Brad), Melanie Zegers (Phillip), Tammy Kreller (Curtis), Bobbi-Jo Adams (John), Jimmy Shaw (Krystina), and Brad Briggs (Amber).

Additionally, her legacy lives on through her 15 great-grandchildren, Vahnessa (Blake), Kristen, Zackary (Rae-Lynn), Kaitlyn, Cheyan, Olivia, Emily, Dylan, Olivia, Hannah, Kendyl, Callie, Adele, Gabrielle and Charlee, and her three great-great-grandchildren, Ramsey, Hudson, and Maverick, as well as her fur-baby, Patches, who will all feel her absence.

Patiently waiting in heaven with their arms wide open, are her daughter, Patricia Kreller; great-grandson, Nolan; her parents, John and Lorene Stellar; and her parents-in-law, Michael and Helen Motz. Sitting handsome and waiting for her smiles and snuggles are her precious pups, Brutus and Buffy.

Elva was raised in Kitchener-Waterloo and called it home until her retirement from the University of Waterloo.

After 24 years of vacationing in Point Clark, she and Wally relocated there in 1991, and would spend the next 33 wonderful years of her life embracing the beautiful community and cherishing the simple joys of life.

Family was at the heart of her life. She adored spending time with her daughters and their families, and her home was always a welcoming space for gatherings and creating lasting memories. Elva enjoyed her spontaneous trips to Port Huron, Frankenmuth, Mackinaw, and occasionally, all the way to Florida for a few magical days at Walt Disney World.

Her bond with animals was extraordinary. She loved to stop for a quick visit with any horse she encountered, and we will remember her warm smiles and pure love for every furry friend who entered her life.

Elva’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful medical team at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, as well as her family physician, Dr. Gary Gurbin, and pharmacists, Mike and Natalie McKechnie, who have made extra efforts to ensure her health and comfort over the years.

To honour Elva’s life, her family welcomes relatives and friends to a visitation at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Friday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to Noon.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Noon, followed by a luncheon reception.

Interment will take place at the Pine River United Church Cemetery in Point Clark, at 2:30 p.m.

A special thank you to Elva’s service officiant, Emily Vandonk, for her life-long dedication to our family.
