South Bruce OPP report food, toy drive Dec. 14; and CAMSafe program reminder

FOOD AND TOY DRIVE DEC. 14 IN KINCARDINE, CHESLEY

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - The South Bruce OPP will be at two locations Saturday, Dec. 14, to "Stuff-a-Cruiser" going into the holiday season.

Between 2-5 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP will be at the Canadian Tire store in Kincardine to collect toy donations.

Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., members will be at the Chesley grocery store to collect donations of non-perishable food items. There will be prepared donation bags available in store.

All donations will go to local families in need. We look forward to seeing you!

REMINDER OF CAMSAFE PROGRAM IN SOUTH BRUCE

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - The South Bruce OPP implemented the CAMSafe program in September, 2023; and is now issuing a reminder to community members.

CAMSafe is a voluntary program aimed at creating a database of residential and commercial security cameras within the communities that may act as a resource for police investigations.

When police officers use the CAMSafe database, they will see a map of the local area. Officers can check registered addresses to view additional details, such as contact information for the property owner.

They cannot access your security cameras independently. If police would like to examine camera footage, they can make a request to the property owner using the available contact information from the database.

Interested community members are required to provide only basic contact information and camera location, but can include more details if desired, such as the direction the camera faces, footage retention details or screenshots of the cameras view. Registrants can view only their own information and can delete their account or change their information at any time.
