Kincardine Bulldogs notch two wins on the weekend
The Kincardine Bulldogs edged Hanover and defeated Mitchell to notch two in the win column, in PJHL action on the weekend.

The Hanover Barons came to the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Friday night, and went home on the short end of a 3-2 score.

Hanover opened the scoring midway through the first period.

Chad Lawrence tied it up for the Bulldogs, partway through the second, assisted by Bryce Martin and Jordan Moulton. Minutes later, Kincardine took the lead on a goal by Aiden Yarde from Caeleb Bowler.

The ‘Dogs made it a 3-1 game early in the final frame, when Martin scored from Kyle Dolmage and Carter Servais.

Hanover fought back but ran out of time, scoring only one goal in the third period, giving Kincardine the 3-2 win.

Bulldogs goalie Rowen Cherrett made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Sunday afternoon, the ‘Dogs hosted the Mitchell Hawks, downing them, 6-3.

Most of the scoring was done in the opening period, with Kincardine slamming in four goals, to Mitchell’s three.

Scoring for the ‘Dogs, were Servais from Cooper Schneider and Jordan Beisel; Lawrence from Servais and Martin; Martin from Servais and Beisel; and Yarde from Bowler and Trent Houghton.

The Bulldogs added two more in the second, as Bowler scored from Yarde and Houghton; and Houghton scored from Servais and Tanner, making it a 6-3 game.

And after a scoreless third period, that’s how it ended, with Kincardine taking the 6-3 win.

Bulldogs goalie Ryan Tanner made 37 saves on 40 shots, with Cherrett taking over late in the game.

The Kincardine Bulldogs are on the road for the first two weeks of January, travelling to Walkerton, Jan. 3, for a 7:30 p.m. game; to Mount Forest, Jan. 4, for an 8 p.m. game; to Mitchell, Jan. 8, for an 8 p.m. game; to Hanover, Jan. 10, for an 8 p.m. game; and to Goderich, Jan. 11, for an 8 p.m. game.

They are back at the Davidson Centre, Friday, Jan. 17, at 8:30 p.m., to take on Mount Forest.
