Almost 40 teams to compete at Kincardine Silver Stick Regional
Almost 40 teams will converge on the arenas in Kincardine, Ripley and Tiverton, for the annual Kincardine Silver Stick Regional Tournament which begins Friday (Dec. 27) and runs through to Monday (Dec. 30).
The event committee welcomes seven teams in the Under-13 (U13) “B” Tier 1 division, including the Kincardine Kinucks; and 14 teams in the U13 “B” Tier 2 division, including the Huron-Bruce Blizzard.
Also competing, are six teams in the U15 “B” Tier 1 division, including the Kincardine Kinucks; and 12 teams in the U15 “B” Tier 2 division, including the Huron-Bruce Blizzard.
The U15 Kinucks take on the Saugeen Shores Storm in the opening game of the tournament, set for Friday at 10 a.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. Most of the U15 games will be at the Davidson Centre.
The U13 Tier 2 games are slated for the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, while the U13 Tier 1 games will be played at the Tiverton Sports Centre.
The official opening of the event is scheduled for Friday at 6:45 p.m., at the Davidson Centre.
Sunday afternoon (Dec. 29), the quarter-finals begin for Tier 2, while the semi-finals begin for Tier 1.
The championship finals will run Monday (Dec. 30), beginning at 12:30 p.m., at the Davidson Centre.
