Rosa Lavigne of Kincardine remembered as devoted mom, grandma, and foster mother
Rosa Marie Lavigne of Kincardine, beloved mother of four children, died peacefully, March 30, 2025, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, surrounded by family. She was 73.
Born in Sturgeon Falls, Jan. 22, 1952, she was a loving and generous woman who touched the lives of everyone she met.
A devoted mother, Rosa always put her family first, offering unwavering support and love. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was also a foster mother to more than 60 children in a 10-year span.
Rosa is survived by her common-law partner, Jim Papadakis; her children, Jerry (Rachel), Tammy-Lynn (Fred), Donald (Jennifer) and Dwayne (Kate); her 10 grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Chris, Sabrina, Andrew, Adam, Austin, Kali, Jonathan and Jackson; and great-granddaughter, Serenity; as well as her siblings, Francoise, Maurice, Jacques and Georgette.
Rosa was predeceased by her parents, Armand and Therese; and her siblings, Claudette, Francois and Fernande.
A memorial service to honour Rosa’s life will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine.
Inurnment of Rosa’s ashes into a niche at the Kincardine Cemetery, following the funeral.
Family and friends are welcome to enjoy food and refreshments at the Bruce Steakhouse, after the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
