Local artist showcases her work at Victoria Park Gallery through month of April
Andreah Barker of Kincardine is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in dance, writing and painting.
Her colourful paintings are on display at the Victoria Park Gallery in downtown Kincardine, as the guest artist for the month of April.
Barker holds a Master’s Degree in Dance from York University and spent many years working in dance/movement therapy, helping older adults connect with their bodies in meaningful ways.
As an author and ghostwriter, she aims to tell inspiring and engaging stories.
She started painting about seven years ago, just after turning 40. What began as an experiment quickly became part of how she explores the world.
Her work, whether through movement, words or paint, often circles around the idea that we’re all connected, and that there’s something quietly magical about simply being here, being human.
