South Bruce OPP report four arrests made at RIDE checks
DRIVER ARRESTED AT RIDE CHECK
(BROCKTON, ON) - April 10, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the South Bruce OPP was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check along Durham Street East in the Municipality of Brockton.
A vehicle entered the area where the police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment.
Katelyn TILSON, 29, of Brockton, was charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
- Possession of a schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)
The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice, May 21, to answer to the charges.
THREE ARRESTED AT RIDE CHECK
(BROCKTON, ON) - April 10, at approximately 11 p.m., the South Bruce OPP was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check along Bruce County Road 10 in the Municipality of Brockton.
A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected cocaine; two additional individuals were also placed under arrest.
Mackara HEM, 25, of Montreal, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2)
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, CCA 12(1)
Trey FREDERICK, 22, of Kitchener, was charged with Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2).
Michael KWANT, 22, of Kitchener, was charged with Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2).
Each is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
