Kincardine approves Area-Specific Development Charges for Highway 9 and 21 lands
The Municipality of Kincardine has passed a bylaw for Area-Specific Development Charges on the lands at Highway 9 and 21.

The bylaw was approved March 26, but any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal, with respect to the bylaw, by filing a notice of appeal with Kincardine clerk Jennifer Lawrie, setting out the objection to the bylaw and the reasons in support of the objection, by Monday, May 5.

These development charges will apply to all new residential and non-residential development in the Highway 9/21 Business Park Lands, subject to certain terms, conditions and limited exemptions as identified. A key map of the business park lands is below.

The development charges are levied against new development in the business park, to pay for the increased capital costs related to the provision of such area-specific municipal services as stormwater infrastructure, sanitary sewer, watermains, roads and related and associated financing costs.

The area-specific development charge is $236,151 per net hectare.

Copies of the complete development charges bylaw are available for examination in the municipal office at 1475 Concession 5, RR 5, Kincardine, and on the website.

For further information, contact the clerk’s office at 519-396-3468, Ext. 7111.
