SVCA launches 75th Anniversary Explore Program
In celebration of its 75th anniversary, March 16, the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) has launched the Explore Saugeen Conservation Program.
This initiative encourages the public to visit SVCA’s scenic conservation areas for a chance to win great prizes while discovering the beauty of the region’s natural landscapes.
To participate in the Explore SVCA Program, participants can visit any seven of the following SVCA properties:
- Administration office in Formosa
- Allan Park
- Brucedale
- Denny’s Dam
- Durham
- Mildmay/Carrick
- New conservation area at Glenelg
- Hardwood Hill
- Kinghurst
- McGowan Falls
- Saugeen Bluffs
- Schmidt Lake
- Stoney Island
- Sulphur Spring
To enter, participants simply need to take a photo with signage or an identifiable feature at each location and upload their photos through the new Explore Program web page at:
www.saugeenconservation.ca/2025Explore.
“We’re proud to celebrate 75 years of conserving and protecting our local eco-systems alongside local communities,” says Erik Downing, general manager/secretary-treasurer of the SVCA. “The Explore Program gives everyone a fun opportunity to connect with nature, learn about the conservation efforts that sustain these beautiful spaces, and be a part of this significant milestone for Saugeen Conservation.”
Prizes include membership passes (each valid for three years), a gift certificate for seven nights of camping, a framed print of a conservation area, a gift basket of outdoor adventure materials, and a grand prize package of camping goods, a seven-night camping gift certificate, and a three-year membership pass.
Participants can upload their photos directly on the web page, mail printed copies to SVCA's administration office or drop them off in person.
The contest closes July 1, 2025, and only selected winners will be contacted.
