Kincardine has best McHappy Day yet, raising almost $20,000 for Ronald McDonald House
It was sunny and cold, Wednesday, but the weather didn’t deter people from coming to McHappy Day at McDonald’s Restaurant in Kincardine, and they were certainly prepared to support the cause as the event was the best yet, raising almost $20,000 for Ronald McDonald House.
Local celebrities and volunteers assisted throughout the day, handing out food at the drive-thru, working the counter, and assisting with the activities on the patio.
Organizer Lynn Reilly was thrilled with the turn-out and the final tally of $19,329.09. The money goes to Ronald McDonald House in London which provides a home for families with seriously-ill children who must leave their own homes in order to seek medical treatment.
“Thank you to all the people of Kincardine who came and supported this event,” she said. “This year was amazing!”
The annual national fund-raiser sees a portion of all sales at McDonald’s on McHappy Day, donated to the charity.
In Kincardine, the event included a spin-the-wheel of prizes, 50-50 draw, raffle, and book sale.
