Huge crowd rushes in to get bargains at Tiverton Lions Garage Sale
A great crowd turned out for the annual Tiverton Lions Community Garage Sale, scooping up treasures and bargains galore, at the Annex building in Tiverton, on the weekend.
The event began Friday night with a barbecue, as Lions Jim McTeer and Ron Simmons were kept busy, flipping burgers, cooking hot dogs and frying onions, while other Lions members and helpers served the food.
As 6 p.m. rolled around, a huge line-up formed and the crowd hit the ground running as soon as the doors opened. People grabbed carts and filled them with all sorts of items, from toys and books, to jewellery, furniture and household goods.
The sale continued Saturday morning and ran until 12:30 p.m.
All funds raised by the Tiverton Lions Club go toward community projects.
