Bruce County celebrates nurses and PSWs – the heart of local health care
Bruce County recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary dedication of its health-care workers during
National Nursing Week (May 12-18) and Personal Support Worker Day (May 19).
This recognition serves as an opportunity to honour the outstanding registered nurses, registered practical nurses, nurse practitioners and personal support workers (PSWs) who provide exceptional care every day in the county’s long-term care homes - Gateway Haven and Brucelea Haven - and throughout all health-care settings in the community.
At
Gateway Haven and
Brucelea Haven, the nurses and PSWs play a central role in the strength and success of the long-term care communities. Their empathy and commitment to resident well-being reflect the highest standards of care and professionalism.
“Every day, our nurses and personal support workers provide care with heart, skill and dedication in our residents' homes,” says Emily Kussmann, incoming director of long-term care and senior services. “They bring comfort, dignity and care to every resident. We are deeply grateful for all they do.”
Throughout Nursing Week and Personal Support Worker Day, both homes will take time to reflect on the invaluable contributions of these health-care teams and celebrate.
The county extends sincere thanks to all the nurses and PSWs, not just during these important observances, but every day.
