Kincardine Legion Corner
Judy Zarubick won $941 in this week’s
Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 8 which revealed the Five of Clubs. Be sure to get your tickets on-line or at any of our in-person locations. Follow our Catch the Ace Facebook page if you are not already, to stay informed, and play in our “Russ in the Movies” weekly challenge, posted on Mondays.
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, the Allen family really cleaned up, with Hailey, Scott and Heidi all winning, and Heidi even won twice, so that made four wins for the Allens! Martyn Furnivall also did pretty well - he was a double-dipper and won the 50/50 Draw, taking home $163. Congratulations, everyone.
The next
Trivia Night is Friday, May 23, and sign-up is now open, so register your team at the Legion Bar soon to reserve your spot!
Bingo and Burgers Thursday nights is popular once again, and you can come a bit early to grab a tasty burger before Bingo starts.
A few important reminders for our veterans:
Sunday, June 1, which is Canadian Armed Forces Day, we will be hosting a barbecue for veterans, their families, and caregivers. It will be a more casual event than our Christmas veterans’ dinner and (hopefully) outdoors! The barbecue will run from 2-4 p.m., with entertainment by Nuclear Vibes. Share this information with any veterans you know and encourage them to attend. We would greatly appreciate the community's help in spreading the word about this event.
In addition, our
Provincial Service Officer, Brittany Campbell, will be visiting Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. She can provide information and assistance on numerous topics, including Disability Benefit Applications, Treatment Benefits referrals, VIP and Special Awards, Rehabilitation and Vocational Assistance, Benevolent Funds Applications, War Veterans Allowance Applications, and assistance for Widows. You must book an interview time to speak with her. To book an appointment, send an E-mail message to our Branch Service Officer, Dave Carson, at
sailorkit@gmail.com.
