South Bruce OPP report domestic violence; impaired driver; vehicle thefts; and collision
INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE RESULTS IN CHARGES

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - June 28, the South Bruce OPP investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Investigation determined that a dispute between intimate partners led to an assault, where a handgun was brandished. The accused was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police. The handgun was seized and determined to be an imitation.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old individual of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
 
  • Assault, CC 266
  • Uttering threats to cause death, CC 264.1(1)(a) - three counts
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) - two counts
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest, CC 270(1)(b)
  • Pointing a firearm, CC 87
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, CC 88

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - June 27, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a member of the South Bruce OPP stopped to check a vehicle along Sideroad 20 South Elderslie, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.

Christopher BANNAN, 52, of Burford, was charged with Operation while impaired - B.A.C. (80-plus), CC 320.14(1)(b).

The accused is set to appear July 23, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

POLICE SEARCH FOR STOLEN TRUCK

(MUNICIPALITY OF SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - June 28, at 11:36 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen vehicle at an address along Clinton Street North in Teeswater.

Police are searching for a grey 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck bearing Ontario Licence No. BD82778.



POLICE SEARCH FOR ANOTHER STOLEN PICK-UP

(KINCARDINE, ON) - June 30, 2025, at 7:46 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen vehicle at an address along Highway 9, Municipality of Kincardine.

The vehicle was taken from a business lot, sometime between June 27 at 5 p.m., and June 30 at 7:30 a.m. Police are searching for a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck bearing Ontario Licence No. BZ27051. The vehicle has a green fuel door, black aftermarket rims, and a faded front Chevrolet emblem.



GOLF CART STOLEN IN LUCKNOW

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) - June 24, the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen golf cart at an event grounds property in the area of Walter Street, Lucknow.

The golf cart was taken sometime between June 13-14, during the course of a community event. Police are searching for a beige Club Car golf cart.

CHARGE LAID AFTER COLLISION

(BROCKTON, ON) - June 30, at 10:39 a.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce County Road 3, Municipality of Brockton.

Officers attended the location with Brockton Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce County Paramedic Services, and found the intersection was blocked by two vehicles. The occupants were treated for minor injuries on scene, and the roadway has since been cleared.

A 22-year-old Hanover resident was charged with Red light - fail to stop, HTA 144(18).
