Lucknow Kinettes donate $15,000 to oncology clinic at Wingham Hospital
The Lucknow and District Kinette Club has donated $15,000 to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation to support the chemotherapy clinic, in honour of club members Natalie McDonagh and Tracey Simpson who received treatment, alongside one another, at the Wingham Hospital.
In support of these two members, and in recognition of the great care available close-to-home, the Kinettes hosted a duelling pianos fund-raiser, May 2. It was a spirited evening of music, laughter and dancing, raising $10,000, and the Kinettes topped it up with an additional $5,000, for a total donation of $15,000.
McDonagh, who is now celebrating the end of her treatment, returned to the hospital with Simpson and her family to ring the ceremonial bell. They joined members of the Kinettes in presenting the donation to the foundation.
Thank you to the Lucknow Kinettes, McDonagh and Simpson, and the McDonagh family for their generous support. This gift will make a meaningful difference for local cancer patients and their families.
On hand for the presentation of a $15,000 donation to the oncology clinic at the Wingham Hospital, are oncology RN Meagan Brown (left), Kinette Tracey Simpson, Kinette Laurie van Dyk, oncology RN Justine McDonald, foundation executive director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi, and Kinette Natalie McDonagh
