South Bruce OPP report ATV collision; and false report

CHARGES LAID AFTER ATV COLLISION

(MUNICIPALITY OF SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - July 5, at 10:07 a.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision along Concession 4, east of Teeswater in the Municipality of South Bruce.

Officers attended the location with South Bruce Fire Rescue and Bruce County Paramedic Services.

Investigation revealed that an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was struck by a passenger vehicle, and the operator was ejected. The operator was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. The roadway was closed for a short period of time.

The ATV operator, a 56-year-old resident of South Bruce, was charged with:
 

• Fail to yield from driveway, HTA 139(1)
• Driver - no helmet, HTAReg 316 19(1)

FALSE REPORT LEADS TO CHARGES

(KINCARDINE, ON) - June 14, the South Bruce OPP received the report of an alleged assault at a business location in Kincardine.

Officers attended and took information from the complainant, alleging to have been assaulted by a store employee. Further investigation and review of security camera footage showed that an assault never occurred, and the complainant had stolen from the business.

Aanchal PATEL, 22, of the Municipality of Kincardine has been charged with:
 

• Public mischief, CC 14(1)(a)
• Theft under $5000, CC 334(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, Aug. 27, to answer to the charges.
