RE: “Kincardine councillor adds further points about courage and the recognition of women”

Councillor Mike Hinchberger acts like a dog with a bone. Whenever someone comments on the Dr. Solomon Secord Monument, he writes a letter.

This council decided to have the monument removed and destroyed. No need for a councillor to continually try and justify the move; the monument has been destroyed and isn’t coming back.

And comparing the women councillors to Laura Secord because they voted in favour of the removal is rather far-fetched. Canada is still a democracy; we get rid of the elected who fall into disfavour via the ballot box.

Mr. Hinchberger says he’s not representing council – but he signed his letter as councillor-at-large. He should be basking in the glory of victory, not trying to justify what was an unpopular decision.
