Learn about Kincardine’s John Gentles, Sept. 20, at Walker House Museum
Everyone is welcome to learn more about John Gentles, a man who lived in Kincardine most of his life and was a prize-winning harness racer, at a presentation, Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Walker House Museum in Kincardine.
The event runs 2-3:30 p.m., with local author and historian Sylvia Hasbury who is also a research co-ordinator with the Bruce County Genealogical Society. Her work with the society has given her great insight into some of Bruce County’s families and the fascinating stories that unfold.
Her book, “John Gentles in Kincardine: The History of a Town through the Eyes of a Gentleman,” outlines Gentles and his involvement with Kincardine’s and Bruce County’s history. Learn more at this author talk and question-and-answer period.
