Driver faces criminal charges following traffic stop
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Chatham resident with criminal driving offences, following an investigation in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

Aug. 18, just before 11 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a disturbance at the Falls Reserve Conservation Area. Officers stopped a vehicle in the area and spoke with the driver. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and later refused to provide a breath sample as required by law.

Christopher DARBYSON, 34, of Chatham has been charged with:
 
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drug

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Sept. 15.
