Diane Wylds-Molnar of Kincardine won $1,120 in this week’s Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 43 which contained the King of Hearts, so if that was your number, start thinking of a new number for next week. With everyone’s help and ticket purchases, we have now surpassed the initial jackpot amount for this round, and as we move into Week 10, we expect the new estimated progressive jackpot to be around $17,000. But we are happy to be proven wrong, and if everyone gets involved and buys tickets, we can push this even higher. Don’t you think?

At the Saturday Meat Draw, we had two lucky double-dippers - Ross Dodman and Doc Roppel each won two prizes. Jamie White was the 50/50 draw winner and took home $152. Congratulations, Jamie!

Save money and stay connected — Early Bird Legion Membership Renewals are on now! From now until Nov. 30, memberships are $55, with a special $50 rate for veterans. Kim, our membership chairperson, is available to answer questions and can often be found at the Saturday Meat Draws with forms ready. On-line renewal is also quick and easy. Take advantage of early bird pricing while it lasts!

We have a new menu item available from the bar in the clubroom. It’s called the “Snack Pack,” featuring four chicken wings and four ounces of fries. The best part? It’s just $5. So, for those days you are just a little bit peckish, try this one out! Also, which is rare nowadays, we have lowered the price of the regular wings to just $8!

An important note for veterans and their families. Our Provincial Service Officer will be visiting us sometime around Oct. 22-24. This year, those veterans wishing to see Rebecca must pre-register by Sept. 26. If you wish to see the PSO, or know a vet who does, please register at the Legion office or by contacting our Veterans Services Officer, Dave Carson, by E-mail at sailorkit@gmail.com.

Back in April, with the proceeds from Catch the Ace, Branch 183 gave the Kincardine District Senior School Football Team a donation of $20,000, which was a big help with purchasing equipment and getting the team up and running. Our Legion Colour Guard and some pipers will be out in Tiverton tomorrow (Sept. 19) for the big game, so come and cheer them on! Good luck tomorrow, Knights!

Finally, thanks to everyone who stopped by Branch 183 for the digital stop on the Kincardine Art Crawl, Saturday, and chatted with me about the use of A.I. content tools for producing images and videos. There were many great questions!
