The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board has received the prestigious Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials International for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This award recognizes the board's commitment to creating a budget that is clear, transparent, and high-quality, reinforcing its dedication to responsible financial management.

“Our 2025-26 financial document represents our strategic response to the needs of our students, families, and communities," said Alecia Lantz, executive superintendent of business services and board treasurer. "Every dollar is allocated to reflect our core values and to deliver meaningful impact across classrooms, mental health supports, and system operations."

The association's budget award program is a rigorous, peer-reviewed process that sets a standard for excellence in school budget development and communication. The program is designed to help school business professionals improve their financial planning and ensures that district budgets are not only comprehensive but also accessible and informative for all community members.

"This award reinforces our commitment to fostering a vibrant Catholic education system that is both financially sustainable and aligned with the needs of our students and families," said education director Karyn Bruneel. "Through careful planning and community partnerships, we are able to ensure that every dollar spent supports the holistic development of our students, inspired by our Catholic values."

“This award is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and integrity of our finance team which works tirelessly to ensure we deliver strong stewardship, accountability, and sustainable financial performance that supports the board’s mission and values,” said board chairperson Lori DiCastri.
