“Loon Brooding” is next print in Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary fund-raiser
“Loon Brooding”, by self-taught artist Cecil Ivey, is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser, on display at Sobeys Kincardine.
Ivey’s trademark “white space” which is incorporated in every piece, is very prominent in this close-up of a loon. Ivey was raised near Wiarton, Ontario, and his paintings are in the spirit of the Woodland School of Art.
The second print on display at Sobeys, is entitled, “Jays at Midnight” by local artist Robbie Craig. This fully-licensed print features three Blue Jays perched on a birch branch. During Craig’s career as a teacher, he moved to the Northwest Territories where he discovered his passion and talent for painting.
The print at the Kincardine Hospital is entitled, “Apple Time,” by Nova Scotian artist Maud Lewis.
The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “The Beatles – Let It Be.”
The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is entitled, “Wayne Gretzky.”
The starting bid for all the prints is $215, and they are on display until Thursday, Nov. 6.
