Annual Breakfast for Malawi set for Nov. 2, at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine
The beautifully-coloured foliage, the chill in the air and the ever-shortening days can mean only one thing - fall is here!

Another year has flown by, and it is once again time to invite one and all to the annual Breakfast for Malawi, slated for Sunday, Nov. 2, from 8:30-10 a.m., at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine.

The event is hosted by Bruce and Pat McKechnie and David and Miriam Barrie.

There continues to be a desperate need for assistance among the elderly grandmothers in Malawi who continue to care for their orphaned grandchildren, and in many cases, other vulnerable children in their villages. They are doing the best that they can, despite the overwhelming difficulties they face. Climate change continues to decimate their crops which are counted on to provide food security for the winter season.

In his sermon, Oct. 12, Rev. Dan West said, “There is so much food visible as we drive down our local highways." This makes it hard for us to fathom that there are severe food shortages in other countries, including Malawi, where many struggle from day-to-day just to eat. We need to share our blessings!

Everyone is welcome Sunday morning, Nov. 2, to enjoy some social interaction with friends and neighbours as well as the breakfast of your choice, prepared fresh from the menu. Donate what you can. No amount is too big or too small. And remember: God loves a cheerful giver!
