Hot Chilis win inaugural chili cook-off in support of Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary
The heat was on Saturday afternoon, as the inaugural Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary Chili Cook-off drew 10 entries and a great crowd to do the taste-testing and voting.

Held at the Grey Matter Brewing Company in downtown Kincardine, the event welcomed patrons to pay $10 for three samples and one vote, or $30 to taste all 10 and get three votes.

The chili varied from mild to spicy and everything in between, with the cooks decorating their stations and providing a variety of foods to go with the chili, including pretzel buns, crackers, cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, and more.

The end result saw The Hot Chilis – Dorinda Bowers and Janette Diebel – taking the trophy and the fancy apron as the winners of the cook-off.

Second place was a tie between Come Eat Up (Jamie Hunter) and Huron Heavenly Heat (Jade and Brian Mlynek), while third place went to The Ladies in Red (Deb Watson and Marla Chapleau).

The real winner, of course, was the hospital auxiliary which raised $1,500 at this event, with all funds going toward equipment at the Kincardine Hospital.
