Ripley Wolves down Elmvale, 5-3, in entertaining style
In what was one of the most entertaining regular season games in memory, the Ripley Wolves defeated the newest North Division team, the Elmvale Harvesters, by a 5-3 score, Saturday night, at the Ripley Arena.
The Wolves trailed, 3-2, after one period but shut down Elmvale's offence from there, while Ethan Skinner scored a natural hat-trick over the last two periods to claim the victory for the hometown team.
Ripley goals were scored by Garrett Meurs, Kaden Hoggarth and Skinner's three, which included a short-handed goal and two unassisted beauties. Assists went to Cody Britton, Hayden Allen, Derek Skinner, Dawson Fahrer, Jordan Moulton, and Meurs.
Ripley goalie Jason Hamilton stopped 26 of 29 shots for the win, while the Wolves peppered Elmvale's goalie with 50 shots.
