Bruce Power and its supplier partners donate $100,000 to local hospices
Bruce Power and its supplier partners marked the recent World Hospice and Palliative Care Day with a $100,000 donation to hospices in Tiverton, Walkerton and Clinton.
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is observed annually to raise awareness and advocate for improved access to services for individuals with life-limiting illness. Bruce Power and its supplier partners recognize the critical need for these services in their communities and proudly support the compassionate care programs delivered by local hospices.
“The availability of quality health care and the well-being of community are key focus areas for Bruce Power’s community investment strategy”, said Maggie Tieman, director of community and external affairs. “Ensuring quality and dignified care is available through the full cycle of life is paramount, and Bruce Power and our supplier partners thank our hospices for all they do for local families.”
“We are deeply grateful to Bruce Power and its supplier partners for their generosity in honour of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day,” said Cathy Herbert, executive director of Huron Shores Hospice located in Tiverton Park Manor. “Their support helps ensure that families in our community have access to free compassionate, dignified, end-of-life care close to home. The donation allows us to focus on what matters most – helping people live well until their last breath and making every moment count for them and their loved ones.”
