Kincardine CAO resigns to become CAO of Thames Centre, near London
Kincardine chief administrative officer (CAO) Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier (above) has resigned and is set to become the new CAO of the Municipality of Thames Centre, effective Dec. 3.
Kincardine mayor Kenneth Craig made the announcement at the council meeting Wednesday night (Oct. 22).
“We have received, with mixed emotions, the resignation of our CAO, Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier,” said Craig. “She has accepted a position with Thames Centre, east of London, which is home for her. She will remain here until the end of November.
“Congratulations, Jillene, and thanks.”
Bellchamber-Glazier began her career with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, working in the London office and with the Toronto policy branch. After 15 years, she took on the job of clerk of Perth County, moving from an advisory position to working in the public sector.
Two years later, she became the CAO/clerk for the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex, taking over from the long-term CAO/clerk, and learning a lot. She held that job for six years before coming to Kincardine in the fall of 2022.
Thames Centre has announced the arrival of Bellchamber-Glazier to the municipality.
“We are pleased to have a candidate with the experience she brings, joining the municipality,” said mayor Sharron McMillan. “The municipality conducted a thorough search and the competition for this critical role at Thames Centre attracted a field of excellent candidates. We are confident Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier’s expertise will greatly benefit our community”
"I am honoured to join this vibrant municipality as CAO,” said Bellchamber-Glazier. “This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of our community. I look forward to working with Thames Centre council, staff, and the community. Together, we will build on the strengths of our municipality and foster innovation throughout our operations. My goal is to ensure we deliver excellent services for all residents. By maintaining a high standard of service, we can support a welcoming and thriving future for everyone who calls Thames Centre home."
