Impaired driver arrested after traffic stop for speeding
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a St. Catharines resident with impaired driving offences, following a traffic stop in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township.

Just after 10:50 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 12, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a speeding vehicle on Belgrave Road in the township. The driver was, subsequently, arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilizer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Hunter QUINN, 32, of St. Catharines has been charged with:
 
  • Impaired Operation - Alcohol and Drug
  • Impaired Operation – Over-80

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Nov. 17.
