Kincardine Scottish Festival makes $1,000 donation to Kincardine Air Cadets
The Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games has presented a donation of $1,000 to the Kincardine Air Cadets.

Festival president Tony Doherty and office administrator Brenda Waugh were on hand Monday night to make the presentation to officials and members of the squadron and its sponsoring committee, at the Kincardine Legion.

This year was the first time the Air Cadets had approval from the government to march in the Clan Parade at the Kincardine Scottish Festival. The donation was made in appreciation of that participation.

“We’re honoured to be part of this great community,” said Doherty, “and it’s important to give back to your community.”

He had two sons who went through the Air Cadets program and was thrilled to donate to it on behalf of the festival. The money will go toward activities, travel, meals and exercises, including the proposed year-end trip to Ottawa next May.
