Kincardine Children’s Christmas Campaign under way
Kincardine Community Services is again reaching out to the community to enlist financial support for the 2025 Children’s Christmas Campaign.
This program is intended to assist families in need, with children in their homes up to the age of 18. Christmas assistance is offered in the form of gift cards to grocery stores and area retailers where gifts and holiday treats may be purchased.
In 2024, the campaign prepared 107 family gift-card envelopes. Each envelope contained grocery gift cards and a $100 gift card per child.
To receive a gift-card envelope, a family must be referred to the program through a helping agency (e.g. food bank, social services, schools, churches, etc.).
The Tiverton and Ripley Lions Clubs provide similar assistance for families in those communities.
With financial donations from individuals and businesses, the gift cards are purchased. The community has three options to make financial donations:
- Cash, cheques or gift cards/vouchers to local stores, can be delivered to: Century 21 In-Studio Realty Inc. office, 801 Queen St., Kincardine, Nov. 12 to Dec. 4, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., daily, except Sunday
- E-transfers can be sent to: kincardinehampers@gmail.com. Please ensure your name and full mailing address are in the “message” section if you would like an income tax receipt.
- Monetary donations, or gift cards to local businesses can be mailed to: Kincardine Community Services – Children’s Christmas Campaign, Box 527, Kincardine, Ontario, N2Z 2Y1. Please make cheques payable to “Kincardine Community Services Association.” Tax receipts will be issued for any amount over $20; please include your name and full mailing address.
“We are grateful for each donation,” said Linda Bowers, chairperson of the campaign. “Thank you for helping us add to the children’s smiles at Christmas.”
