Kincardine resident charged with impaired driving
(NORTH HURON, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Kincardine resident with several criminal offences, following an incident on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham.

Just after 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, Huron County OPP officers responded to a complaint on Josephine Street. Police spoke to a vehicle driver who had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was, subsequently, arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where the individual provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilizer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Daryl HODGINS, 42, of Kincardine has been charged with:
 
  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired - Over 80
  • Criminal Harassment - Threatening Conduct
  • Common Nuisance - Endanger Life

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Dec. 8.
