WANTED FOR ROBBERY
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Friday, Jan. 22, members of the Huron County OPP detachment arrested 33-year-old Shannon Elizabeth HUNTER in relation to two outstanding arrest warrants.
Just before 5 p.m., she was located at a residence on Belfast Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. She was taken into custody without incident.
She is facing charges of Robbery with Violence and five counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. She remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for Jan. 26, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
OVER-80 CHARGE LAID
(GODERICH, ON) - A 26-year-old Goderich woman is facing a Criminal Code charge of “Drive Motor Vehicle – Over-80 Milligrams” following a traffic stop that took place Sunday afternoon, Jan. 24.
Just before 12:30 p.m., a Huron County OPP officer responded to a complaint involving a Honda Civic being driven in an erratic manner, travelling southbound on Bluewater Veterans Highway.
At 12:34 p.m., the OPP officer spotted the suspect vehicle as it entered into Goderich, travelling south on Victoria Street North. The vehicle was followed and, subsequently, stopped on Bruce Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer spoke with the female driver and noted she had been drinking alcohol.
A roadside screening device was completed which resulted in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Huron OPP detachment where she provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 26-year-old Sheila KUIK of Goderich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over-80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 14, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. She also received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
