Tiverton Winterfest set for Feb. 6-7

Tiverton Winterfest set for Feb. 6-7
Lots of great activities are planned for the 2016 Tiverton Winterfest, which runs Saturday, Feb. 6, ando Sunday, Feb. 7.

The event kicks off with the annual Tiverton Goodtimers Pancake Breakfast, Saturday from 7-11 a.m., at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, sponsored by the Tiverton Goodtimers. Cost is $8 each for adults, and $4 each for children.

Story Time and Craft at the Library runs from Noon to 1 p.m., at the Tiverton Library. Come and warm up from the chilly weather during Winterfest, with songs, games, stories and general silliness! Sponsored by the Tiverton branch of the Bruce County Public Library.

Family Fun Sleigh Rides will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m., with pick-up at the Tiverton Lions Hall, sponsored by the Municipality of Kincardine. Looking for a memorable and fun activity on a wintry Saturday afternoon? Enjoy the joys of winter on a sleigh ride right in your backyard. Bring blankets and warm clothing. This activity will be held, weather permitting.

Euchre Party, from 1:30-4 p.m., at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, sponsored by the Tiverton Agricultural Society. Cost is $4 per player. Cash prizes - everyone welcome.

Sunday begins with the Winterfest Worship Service and Chili Luncheon at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, beginning with the service at 10 a.m., with luncheon to follow at 11 a.m. Sponsored by Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton

Family Fun Skating Party runs from 12:30-2 p.m. at the Tiverton Sports Complex, sponsored by the Tiverton Lions Club. Enjoy an afternoon of skating, ice-painting, and free hot dogs and family-friendly drinks.

Fiddle Tunes and Folk Songs by Eliza Jane runs from 2-5 p.m. at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, featuring Debbie Morris, Kenny McFarlane, Eldon McDowell, Bob Pilger, Larry Hunter, John MacDonald, Glenn MacKenzie, John Sanford, Jay Smith, Gerry Bailey, Mary Campbell, Jamie Hunter, and Thales and Sappho Hunter. Cost is $5. Followed by a hot ham supper and lots of cheer! Cost for the meal is $12. Cost for entertainment and dinner is $15. Sponsored by the Tiverton Agricultural Society.
