Kincardine Bulldogs score two wins on the weekend
The Kincardine Bulldogs shut out Walkerton and defeated Mount Forest, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.
Friday night in Walkerton, the 'Dogs slammed the Capital 8-0.
Scoring for Kincardine, were Cole Lewis with four goals, Owen Shore with two, and singles from Caeleb Bowler and Bryce Martin.
Assists went to Tyler Kelly (3), Bryce Martin (2), Lewis (2), Blake Hellyer, Jackson Hayward-Nelson, Dawson Marshall and Zasha Ortman.
Kincardine had 40 shots on goal, compared to 20 by Walkerton. Bulldogs goalie Blake Beitz stopped all 20 of those shots.
Saturday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, the Bulldogs downed the Mount Forest Patriots, 5-2.
Kincardine opened the scoring early in the first period on a goal by Lewis from Bowler and Kelly. Tyler Wagler made it 2-0 for Kincardine, assisted by Hayward-Nelson and Leland Weber.
Mount Forest scored in the second before Kelly fired in a shot from Ortman and Jared Houghton, to make it 3-1 for the 'Dogs.
Early in the third, Houghton scored from Kelly and Lewis to make it a 4-1 game for Kincardine.
With just minutes remaining, Kelly scored from Lewis and Ortman to make it 5-1, and Mount Forest fired in another goal to the end the game, 5-2 for Kincardine.
Beitz made 28 saves on 30 shots.
The 'Dogs host Walkerton, Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
