Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton Lions continue Kincardine Catch the Ace lottery
The weekly Kincardine Catch the Ace draw is set to continue.

Huron Shores Hospice and the Tiverton and District Lions Club have announced they will continue this popular progressive lottery that the community has grown to love.

Catch the Ace has brought excitement to players while helping raise more than $600,000 for community projects and hospice care close to home. The official start date will be shared once the organizers obtain approval for a licence through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

“We are grateful for the strong community support that has made Catch the Ace such a success,” said Cathy Herbert, executive director of Huron Shores Hospice. “This lottery gives people a fun way to help families receive compassionate end-of-life care in our community and has gone a long way to funding the expansion of a third suite to ensure more families in our community are supported at end-of-life.”

Huron Shores Hospice and the Tiverton Lions sincerely thank the Kincardine Legion for its past partnership and support of Catch the Ace, and wish the Legion every success in its future fund-raising efforts.

The Catch the Ace draw will continue to use the on-line system provided by Rosewood Inc., an Ontario-based company. This helps ensure that funds raised stay in the community, supporting local care, local community projects and an Ontario-based business.

“Proceeds from the Catch the Ace lottery made a real difference in our community,” said Tiverton Lion Hank Van Moorsel. “Thanks to ticket-buyers, the Lions have been able to invest in projects that touch many lives, including $60,000 for a splash pad in Tiverton, $25,000 for an autism assist dog for a local child, $22,800 for hospital beds in Kincardine, and $25,000 for the Lions Foundation Dog Guide School. Funds have also supported the refurbishment of the historic Masonic building, child ID kits, and Kincardine Community Living.”

These donations show why Catch the Ace matters — every ticket helps build a stronger, kinder community and supports people of all ages when they need it most.

The progressive lottery continues with the same website www.kincardineace.com but has a brand new Facebook page to follow for more details: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61587485900564, including the launch date and ticket information, which will be shared once the AGCO licence is approved.

Kincardine Community Catch the Ace is a partnership between Huron Shores Hospice and the Tiverton and District Lions Club. Huron Shores Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like setting for those living with a life-limiting illness. The Tiverton Lions Club is a volunteer service organization dedicated to serving the community and helping those in need.

The organizations will use the proceeds from the Catch the Ace lottery to help build a stronger community.
