Kincardine Bulldogs put bite on Walkerton, 6-1, in PJHL action
The Kincardine Bulldogs took a bite out of the Walkerton Capitals, 6-1, Saturday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Zasha Ortman gave the 'Dogs a commanding 2-0 lead, with two goals in the opening period. Assists came from Tyler Wagler, Blake Hellyer, Colban Liddle and Preston Stevens.
Early in the second, Kincardine's Cade Moffatt scored from Ortman and Liddle to make it a 3-0 game, and minutes later, Ryan Robillard scored from Owen Shore to make it 4-0 for the Bulldogs.
Walkerton scored its lone goal of the game midway in the second period.
And the final frame belonged to the 'Dogs as they added two more goals, to take the 6-1 win. Tyler Kelly scored from Caeleb Bowler and Shore; and Wagler scored from Leland Weber and Stevens.
Kincardine goalie Blake Beitz made 39 saves on 40 shots.
The Bulldogs are in Wingham, Friday, Feb. 13, for an 8 p.m. game, and then back home at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m., for a game against Mount Forest.
Monday, Feb. 16, they travel to Fergus for a 2 p.m. game.
