OPP to host International Women's Day recruitment events
(ORILLIA, ON) - The OPP will be hosting recruitment events across the province in March to coincide with International Women's Day and support women on their journey to becoming police officers.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters and to participate in collaborative activities focused on the OPP's key areas of assessment.
Events will take place in these locations on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 5 - Thunder Bay
- Saturday, March 7 - Sault Ste. Marie
- Sunday, March 8 - London
- Sunday, March 8 - Orillia
- Sunday, March 8 - Smiths Falls
- Tuesday, March 10 - North Bay
- Thursday, March 12 - Mississauga

The OPP hosts events throughout the year to support women (including those who are cis, trans, assigned female at birth and non-binary) and the unique challenges they face when considering a career in policing.
The OPP is dedicated to ensuring open, accessible, equitable and respectful workplaces, and is committed to reflecting the diverse communities it serves.
International Women's Day is observed annually, March 8, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for advancing gender equality. International Women's Day has been around for over a century, with the first one marked in 1911.
