Bruce County Road 23, northwest of Tiverton, closed due to blowing and drifting snow
Bruce County Road 23 (the B-line), from Bruce County Road 15 to Concession 2, has been closed, due to blowing and drifting snow.

As of Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 4:17 p.m., the South Bruce OPP reported the B-line closed, northwest of Tiverton, because of high wind, blowing snow and poor-to-no visibility.

Earlier in the day, at about 10 a.m., Bruce County Road 28 was closed, from Concession 4 to the Huron-Bruce Road, south of Mildmay, due to poor road conditions.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Wednesday afternoon, calling for local blowing snow and freezing drizzle, causing reduced visibility on the roadways, and icy and slippery conditions. This is expected to continue through the evening.

Motorists are advised to prepare for quickly-changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Roads, walkways and other surfaces may become icy and slippery.

Snowy, windy conditions are forecast into the weekend.

For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.

Remember to keep your speed down. “If you see snow, go slow.”
