​Elaine Errington, formerly of Lucknow, dies at the age of 98

Mary “Elaine” Errington, formerly of Lucknow, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Wingham and District Hospital, Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026 at the age of 98.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years, Ross Errington.

Survived by her children, Lorene (Doug Casemore), Steve and Shelly Errington (Tolton), Deb (Ron Takalo) and Valerie (Mike Tanner).

Also greatly missed by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and John MacDonald; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, Jim and Irene Little; sisters, Evelyn Grey, Helen Kuik, Lorna Stroeder and Joyce Hackett; and in-laws, Victor and Vera Errington, Violet Durnin, Jean Henderson, and Jim and Harold Errington.

Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating.

Spring Interment, Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Huron Hospice Bender House or the Lucknow United Church.
