SNOWMOBILE CHARGES ISSUED AT RIDE CHECK
(HURON-KINLOSS TWP, ON) – Jan. 24, at 1:27 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP set up a RIDE checkpoint at the intersection of Southline Avenue and Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township.
An Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail crosses Bruce County Road 1 at this intersection.
A 31-year-old Plympton-Wyoming man and a 23-year-old Saugeen Shores man were each charged with speeding under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act (MSVA) for travelling more than 50 km/h on a public trail.
DRIVER TRIES WALKING FOR SEVEN DAYS
(KINLOSS TWP, ON) – Jan. 24, at 3:21 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township, noticed a red Subaru ITJ moving at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle speed was displayed on radar at more than 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver, a 24-year-old Huron-Kinloss man, was charged with race a motor vehicle. This offence carries an automatic seven-day vehicle impound and a seven-day licence suspension.
