South Bruce OPP report stolen ATV recovered; and impaired driver charged
STOLEN ATV RECOVERED IN BROCKTON

(BROCKTON, ON) - A March 18, at 10 a.m., the South Bruce OPP executed a search warrant in the Municipality of Brockton, resulting in the recovery of a stolen All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).

An investigation, initiated by members of the South Bruce OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), led investigators to an address in the Brockton. Officers from the South Bruce OPP Bail Support Team, South Bruce OPP, Wellington County OPP CSCU, Grey-Bruce OPP CSCU and West Region OPP Canine Unit, assisted with the investigation.

Blayne TAIT-HALL, 30, of Southgate Township has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with probation (three counts)

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 26, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton.

Brittany TROMMELEN, 36, of Wellington North has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
 
  • Fail to comply with Undertaking

The accused was arrested and later released with a court date of April 22, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton.

DRIVER CHARGED AFTER POLICE CRUISER ALMOST HIT

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) - March 15, at about 11 p.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a call involving downed wires on Highway 21, Kincardine Township.

While officers were blocking traffic, a marked police cruiser with emergency lights activated was almost struck by a vehicle. During a traffic stop of that vehicle, officers observed signs of impairment with the driver who was placed under arrest.

William HARKNESS, 31, of Arran-Elderslie Township, has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
 
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was also charged under the Cannabis Control Act with:
 
  •  Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for April 29, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.
